We are a collective of mothers from all over India fighting for our children's right to breathe clean air by :
- Creating awareness on sources of air pollution and climate change.
- Educating and empowering citizens to take action.
- Engaging with decision makers to enforce regulations.
Our Vision
To create a society where clean air, our basic human right, is accessible to all, especially children for a healthy and productive life.
The Mission
To ensure implementation of World Health Organisation (WHO) air quality standards all over India by :
- Demanding accountability from public and private authorities on air quality abatement plans.
- Engaging with relevant stakeholders on proven cost-effective solutions.
- Growing and building capacity of more mothers to join the movement and effect change.
HOW WE WORK
- Build and nurture inclusive women led networks across India that are committed to clean air and a countrywide healthy AQI.
- Build capacity and commitment of stakeholders to engage with social, economic and environmental impacts of air pollution and climate change.
- Create and disseminate simple creative communication to improve awareness and knowledge and empower change-makers.
- Hyper-local, regional, narratives and collaborative campaigns on the health impacts of air pollution and poor AQI.
WHAT IS AQI?
Like you check for rain or bad weather, it is essential to also keep an eye on the AQI, the National Air Quality Index launched in 2014 under the Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan. The index measures 8 parameters across 240 cities in India with 342 monitoring stations, and it shows the current and forecasted levels of particulate matter in the air. It tracks the levels of PM10, PM2.5, NO2, SO2, CO, O3, NH3, and Pb and provides real time data in New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad. Know what the indicators - Good, Satisfactory, Moderately polluted, Poor, Very Poor, and Severe – mean for you and your family.
